Sophie Cousinié, born in 1988, is an independent designer and illustrator. Studies of letters, theater and anthropology nourished and encouraged his imagination. Working in the fields of living and plastic art, cultural mediation and education, among others, she learned to observe and transcribe, particularly through drawing. Today, his palette is deployed to paint social facts, funny situations and caustic portraits. His works are produced in ink and watercolor and are intended for personal or collective exhibitions, publishing, children's literature and for private orders. She moves forward, free in her work, surrounding female figures (from the daring child to the wild woman) moved by a certain energy, thus transcribing strong personalities with mischief. Driven by paradox, the play of borders and gender, she addresses, in a roundabout and subtle way, the freedom to be oneself. A rider, she also produces numerous equestrian representations for the press or specialized literature (Planète Cheval, FFE editions). Her style is simple and lively, reminiscent of Sempé or George Goursat, caricaturist. She tries to take up the observations of her time with precision and enthusiasm. Inspired by her theatrical practice, and the multiple social and professional worlds she has crossed, she gives her drawings movement, an original and spontaneous character. Today she makes a living from her artistic production on the Atlantic coast, which she travels with her works.
